Elizabeth is a paramedic and a person in long-term recovery from opioid use disorder serving her community, reducing stigma within the medical field through her work. "I graduated, and shortly thereafter I was able to start helping out at the school I attended, to build in the medics a sense of understanding of the individual suffering from addiction. They'll understand, and in turn, be a better provider to that patient in need."
Elizabeth's story is the story of our community – every day, people with OUD recover and make a difference in the lives of others. Whether it's saving lives as a paramedic or saving lives by ending stigma, she's showing us what's possible.
