“I don’t give up on people because people didn’t give up on me.”
Kim is a mother, grandmother, and nonprofit founder in her 24th year of recovery. She started out waiting tables after her treatment program and went on to work for her local mayor’s office, supporting women and young people.
Today Kim says, “I want people to know that people who use substances are not ‘bad’ people. I’m grateful for the journey. I’m right where I’m supposed to be.” Her relationships have flourished, and her professional career has taken her to new opportunities.
