Matt Made Positive Changes for his Health

Updated: Oct 25

Matt is 20 months into his recovery journey, but the road to get here wasn’t easy.

After losing both of his jobs at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, he moved back to western Kentucky to live with his family – and ended up in the hospital while working to recover from his opioid use disorder (OUD). “I was sick and tired of being sick and tired,” Matt says, “But there was some reason in that moment I decided I was going to try to live.”

Nearly two years later, Matt’s recovery journey has had a positive impact on not just his health – it’s strengthened his relationships with his family, too. “Today I have one of the best relationships with my parents and sisters that I’ve ever had. Because they get to see me all the time, they see the vast improvement in me."
