“I get to help people for a living. It fills me up on the inside.”
Sam works as a lead peer support specialist at Turning Point Community Recovery Center, where as a person in recovery from an opioid use disorder, he does one-on-one peer support with individuals on their path and oversees other peer support specialists. “One of our jobs here at Turning Point is to plan outside-of-the-building events that it gets to show people early in recovery that you can have fun.” Sam says that to him, getting to see people enjoying recovery is just as important as the other work the folks at Turning Point do, and he’s glad to be a part of all of it. “I get to help people for a living. It fills me up on the inside.”
