Sheriff Ryan wants to be a source of hope for people in his county with SUD.
Sheriff Ryan’s top priority is making sure everyone in his community feels safe and protected. He knows that, in the past, stigma has made people with substance use disorder (SUD) less likely to trust the police. That’s why he and his team at the Sheriff's Office started the Badges of Hope program in 2019, to create a direct connection between the community and local treatment services. Sheriff Ryan wants to be a source of hope for people in his county with SUD. His mission is simple: “I think we just need to try to help people.”
